About the role 

We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Stores to join Newcastle United on a fixed-term basis, taking the lead in driving the ongoing success of our multi-site retail operations. This is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing the management and performance of our flagship store at St. James’ Park, our Metro Centre and Fenwick stores, as well as our kiosk operations during both men’s and women’s matchdays.

You’ll lead and inspire a management team of five, ensuring the consistent delivery of high retail standards across all sites. You’ll play a key role in optimising operations, identifying commercial growth opportunities, responding to market trends, and driving continuous improvement across our retail operations.

Your impact 

With a strong background in retail operations, ideally within the sports, entertainment retail sectors, you bring a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering outstanding customer experiences. Your leadership style is collaborative and motivating, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll have the confidence and autonomy to manage multiple priorities, combined with sharp commercial and financial acumen. Your ability to interpret data and extract insights will be crucial in making informed decisions that support retail growth and enhance operational efficiency.

About the team  

You’ll report directly to the Director of Retail and Licensing. Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate across the wider Retail and Licensing leadership team and our broader commercial function, contributing to the strategic direction of Newcastle United’s retail presence.

Location 

This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with an expectation of working 3 days per week from the office. Please note, if you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we regret that we will not be able to progress your application.
