Inclusion Advisory Groups Members - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Newcastle Upon Tyne and Remote / Virtual Opportunities
This is an exciting time at Newcastle United as we look for members to join our Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG).
The key purposes of the IAG are to provide expertise, critique and advice to Newcastle United on matters concerning Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. The IAG will undertake specific delegated functions in relation to inclusion, governance and equality matters, along with any other identified football priorities. The focus will be to assist in positive change to help Newcastle United achieve their equality, diversity and inclusion vision of being ‘United as One’.
More specifically, the IAG will discuss relevant issues and formulate effective solutions; share ideas and best practice; inform and educate; help us to develop and monitor strategies, both internally for our staff team and externally for our supporters all around the world; engage and network at NUFC events as and when required; help to ensure that our inclusion work is evidence based and data informed wherever possible and help to ensure that our inclusion work is relevant and encompasses the needs of all our communities.
You will currently work in or have a strong background in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, be someone who has lived experience in an underrepresented group or be someone with expertise in one or more of the protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. We are also interested in hearing from people with experience in working with and supporting low socio-economic communities.
If you have experience within a football background that would be great, but it’s not essential.
The IAG meet on a quarterly basis for 2-hour meetings at St James Park or virtually, if required. We will also require you to be an ambassador to support other events as part of Newcastle United fan forums and attend other standing committee meetings.
Sound like you? Great, we look forward to hearing from you
