About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a NQ Solicitor (circa 0-2 years PQE) who would like a career working within an in-house dynamic legal team. You will support a wide range of legal work focusing on Retail Licensing and Commercial within a fast-paced, high-profile environment. This is your chance to join a well-established, supportive legal team at the heart of a world-famous football club.
You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues who will provide guidance and mentorship as you take on a varied workload, from drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, to advising on licensing matters, intellectual property rights, and data protection.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Licensing
Provide legal support for the Club’s retail licensing activities, including drafting and advising on licensing agreements.
Deliver accurate, timely, and commercially focused legal advice across the Club’s commercial functions.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including those related to the sale and supply of goods and services, sponsorships, partnerships, consumer engagement, and fan initiatives.
Prepare ancillary agreements in support of prospective commercial deals.
Assist the legal team with regulatory or contentious issues affecting the Club.

Your impact
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A qualified solicitor in England & Wales with up to two years’ post-qualification experience.
Strong academics and training from a reputable law firm or in-house team.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
A confident communicator who can break down complex legal concepts for a variety of audiences.

Location
This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with an expectation of working 3 days per week from the office. Please note, if you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we regret that we will not be able to progress your application.
