About the Coach Inclusion and Diversity Scheme…
The CID scheme provides a brilliant fixed-term employment opportunity and development programme for talented and passionate candidates from under-represented groups successful candidate. The club will act as the ‘base’ of employment and the individual will work across a variety of football functions within the Club to broaden their learning experience.

Your impact…
The successful candidate will actively be involved in coaching and observation across the Newcastle United Academy in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary teams. You will also be supported on the Premier League’s Coach Development Programme which is accredited by Leeds Beckett University.
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will receive a Diploma in Professional Football Coaching. The development programme includes mentoring, workshops, peer learning, projects, and need-led access to FA/UEFA coaching qualifications.
About you…
You will be a coach who identifies as being from an eligible under-represented background within English Professional Football.
The Coach Inclusion & Diversity Scheme 2024/25 is seeking to support male coaches from Black, South-Asian and Mixed Heritage backgrounds, and female coaches from all backgrounds. Applications will only be accepted from candidates with those backgrounds.
In line with the aims and spirit of the scheme you must not have previous experience of holding a full-time coaching role in a Premier League or EFL Club working in either Boys Academy or Men’s 1st Team Football.
It is also essential that you currently hold UEFA B licence and hold the following before commencing the role:
* FA Safeguarding Certificate
* Enhanced DBS Clearance
* Emergency First Aid Certificate
A teaching or coaching undergraduate degree is desirable but not essential as we are looking for a coach with the passion to create exciting and age-appropriate high performing learning environments for players.
You will be able to engage young players with your exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, acting as a role model for the Club and scheme.
