About the role
We’re looking for an individual to join our Safeguarding & Welfare team where you will coordinate an effective Safeguarding & Wellbeing support service for the players, parents and staff of Newcastle United Academy and Pre-Academy.
Working within the Academy, you will co-ordinate implementation of the Club’s safeguarding strategy, supporting compliance to relevant Safeguarding & Wellbeing laws, rules, regulations and policy requirements.
Acting as a Safeguarding & Wellbeing lead point of contact you will triage and manage incidents and concerns relating to Academy players and support investigations into allegations and concerns as required.
Your impact
You will have experience of working within a similar role and working confidentially, professionally and handling sensitive information. In addition, you must possess:
* Educated to degree level in a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent industry experience
* FA Safeguarding Children Workshop certificate
* FA Wellbeing Officer’s Workshop certificate
* Local Safeguarding Children Board Level 3 training
* Knowledge of the principles of safeguarding and child development
* Knowledge of local and national agencies that provide support for children and adults at risk
About the team
You will work collaboratively with all other departments within the Academy as well as the wider People and Talent directorate. You will also develop close relationships with players and parents of the Academy and other key stakeholders such as the Premier League.
