Be part of something bigger. Find, grow and back the people who make this Club what it is.

We are the heartbeat of the city.  A club with bold ambitions on a global stage and deep roots in our community. If you’re driven to raise the bar and make an impact, you’ll find the platform, the people and the pride to do your best work here.

This is a great opportunity to develop, learn and make a real contribution in a fast-paced and exciting environment.

About the role

As our HR Advisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering a people‑focused, efficient and proactive HR service across the Club. Working closely with our HR Business Partners, the Head of HR and wider People & Talent team, you’ll provide trusted guidance to managers and colleagues, helping embed our policies, our practices and the Newcastle Code across everything we do.

You’ll be the first point of contact for employee relations queries, supporting managers to confidently handle matters such as disciplinary, grievance, attendance and probation. You’ll build strong relationships, use data to spot trends, and work collaboratively across teams to continually improve our service.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll support people initiatives, training, policy development, engagement activity and the annual performance cycle, helping us deliver an excellent people experience across the Club.

What you’ll do

*       Provide credible, pragmatic advice on employee relations matters, ensuring managers are supported to act consistently and confidently in line with Club policies and employment law.

*       Build strong, trusted relationships with People Managers through regular touchpoints and proactive HR support.

*       Collaborate with colleagues across the People & Talent team to enhance our services, streamline processes and support cross‑functional working.

*       Organise and deliver HR surgeries, coaching sessions and people management training—tailored to the needs of each team.

*       Support policy reviews, ensuring our guidance is up to date, legally compliant and easy to understand.

*       Provide insight through well‑presented people data, identifying trends across absence, probation, case management and other key people metrics.

*       Contribute to the annual performance and objective‑setting process, helping managers set clear, focused and meaningful goals.

*       Support our engagement survey process, from communications to results analysis and action planning.

*       Assist with job evaluation activity and the creation of compliant job descriptions.  Promote safeguarding, welfare and equality best practice in all areas of your work.

About you

You’ll bring strong HR experience, confidence in handling employee relations matters and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset. You’re someone who builds relationships easily, communicates with clarity, and adapts your approach to support different needs.

You’ll also have:

  • Experience in a similar HR advisory role.
  • A working knowledge of employment law and experience managing a range of ER cases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to influence and give constructive feedback.
  • Experience using HR or payroll systems and strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to present data clearly and make insight‑led recommendations.
  • A high level of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and safe working practices.
  • CIPD Level 5, a related degree or equivalent experience.

The team

You’ll join a friendly, supportive and dedicated People & Talent team who will help you settle in, grow and succeed. We value curiosity, teamwork and a positive, solutions‑focused approach.
