About the Role
As an integral part of the First Team Performance Analysis Department, you will deliver outstanding, evidence-based, video and data-driven analysis with a specialised focus on set pieces. Working closely with the First Team Coaching Staff, you will lead the set piece analysis process, providing detailed insights and influencing strategic decision-making and training session design.
Your Impact
You will
* Lead the First Team’s set piece analysis process, presenting insights to the Head Coach, Set-Play Coach and Coaching Staff.
* Use extensive research of video and data to propose solutions to set piece challenges.
* Collaborate with the Data and Insights department, developing efficient data analysis workflows, to create impactful presentations and team meeting content.
* Support the Coaching Staff in delivering set piece content during training, including organising support staff and players.
* Produce visual representations of agreed set pieces to aid player understanding and accountability.
* Conduct post-match reviews of set pieces, highlighting technical and tactical trends.
* Build set piece-focused individual player development plans.
* Create and maintain digital set piece philosophy and playbook documents.
* Research current set piece trends domestically and internationally, sharing key findings.
You will have;
* Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in a sports discipline (preferably Sports Science).
* Proficient with Hudl Sportscode & Studio (or similar platform).
* Considerable experience working within set piece analysis at an elite professional football club.
* Excellent football knowledge to observe, analyse, and interpret technical and tactical performance.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong visual and written presentation skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively under high pressure.
* Effective deadline management and prioritisation.
* Resilience to meet high workloads and sustain output throughout demanding schedules.
* Willingness to acquire and utilise coaching and mentoring skills.
* Excellent computer literacy with both Mac and Windows.
About the Team
You will work within the Performance Analysis department, reporting to the Head of Performance Analysis, and collaborate closely with the First Team Coaching Staff.
