Newcastle United is the heartbeat of the city and one of the most exciting football clubs in the world, with an ever-growing, fanbase.  The Newcastle United Women Academy is seeking a dedicated Goalkeeping Coach to lead, shape, and deliver our player-focused goalkeeping programme.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and driven Goalkeeper Coach to spearhead our brand-new Academy at Newcastle United Women. You will design, implement, and review a comprehensive coaching programme tailored for youth female goalkeepers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor individual player development, set targets, and provide detailed feedback.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary performance team to track training loads and support injury prevention and rehabilitation.

  • Maintain accurate records using the club’s performance management systems.

  • Periodically review and update the goalkeeping curriculum to reflect modern trends and best practices.

  • Ensure a continuous professional development (CPD) programme is in place for all staff.

  • Act as a role model by upholding NUW Academy’s values and behaviours, while encouraging the same from others.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

*       FA Level 3 / UEFA B (or higher) Goalkeeping Coaching Qualification

  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency Aid qualification
  • Experience in a women’s professional game environment
  • Proven track record in coaching talented young female goalkeepers.

*        FA Safeguarding experience
