Soft Tissue Therapist – First Team
Newcastle United
Permanent
Newcastle Upon Tyne
Competitive Salary
We are the heartbeat of the city. Come and be a part of a long and proud history where we strive to be the best in everything we do, on and off the pitch. Bringing the people and communities together, join the Newcastle United Family, as we embark on the next steps of our exciting journey.
About the role
In this role, you’ll be hands-on with the First Team, providing soft tissue treatments—including sports massage and Active Release Technique—to help both fit and injured players perform at their best. You’ll play a key part in supporting rehabilitation, working to minimise injury time out and make sure our squad is ready for matchday.
You’ll be collaborating closely with a talented medical team, sharing insights and working together to deliver holistic care and prevent injuries. Keeping accurate records and maintaining confidentiality will be second nature to you, as will communicating clearly with colleagues about player status and treatment plans.
Whether it’s at St. James’ Park or travelling for away fixtures, you’ll be there to provide vital support and treatment, helping players stay performance ready. You’ll also lend a hand with medical planning and preparation for match days, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Your impact
We’re searching for someone with real experience in elite professional sport—ideally in a medical or soft tissue role—who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll need to be resilient, calm under pressure, and able to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the team. Trust and confidentiality are essential, as is a genuine understanding of privacy issues.
Strong communication skills and empathy are key, as you’ll be working closely with players and colleagues across the club. Flexibility is important too; you’ll be happy to travel and work unsocial hours when the role requires it. Above all, you’ll bring a commitment to safeguarding, equality, and best practice in everything you do.
You should hold a Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) in Soft Tissue Therapy.
